Most of Chilean estates are of large dimensions, and very often, visitors discover modern installations. Investments are important, architectural choices full of audacity, technical installations very innovative and recent. An affordable workforce helps to develop large estates. As a result, everything is done to be well organised for the wine elaboration and pleasant for the visitor: beautiful bodegas fitting well in their natural environment, modern buildings, nice aesthetic architectures, and a real will to elaborate quality wines. |

Being different in Chile, in comparison to other wine-producing countries in the "new world", doesn't mean having a disruptive marketing or communication. Most of the difference comes form the quality of the product and the will to elaborate a good wine, to meet the international expectations. In the vineyards, quality means also having vines that have been protected from the vine diseases, ancient plants, a unique grape, the Carmenere, which has disappeared from other wine regions in the world because of phylloxera. In terms of elaboration, Chilean bodegas do make investments into modern installations and well-tried techniques, like the gravity process. Chilean vineyards seem to have a nice future, as testified by large investments on some estates, the development of the vineyards superficies and associations between Chilean wine professionals and foreigners to elaborate quality wines. |
