Imagine an island surrounded by turquoise waters, dolphins, sailing ships, a small fishing port. We can see houses too, large estates and splendid old mansions or new residences with a modern architecture. What is the most striking here on the island is to discover rows of vines everywhere, a green carpet leading to the ocean.

Imagine wineries with a restaurant overlooking the seas, curving roads, vines and fields, meadows and beaches...

We drive around the island and we often stop to look at the sheep, admire the vineyards and, of course, to taste. For lunch, we choose some cheese and a glass of Cabernet.

Here we see vines and olive trees but also palm trees; the people who come here are all inhabitants, most of them having been living here for a very long time… which can be easily understood : after only a few hours spent in Waiheke, we have this strange feeling that maybe here we have found a paradise on earth.

Imagine vines with a view on the ocean, looking at the rising sun, a landscape with beaches and waves, and sometimes a wild coast. A region which combines the love of gastronomy, wine and surf...

It is in Gisborne that, with some tenderness, we discover the vines which, each morning, are the first in the world to see the rising day. We choose to participate: an early wake-up and we can admire, still sleepy-eyed, red and gold rising up out of the sky over the ocean...
